Academy of Burlesque

The Seattle based Academy of Burlesque was founded in 2003 by Miss Indigo Blue and offers courses in basic through intermediate Burlessque Arts. The Academy is the only institution of its kind in the Northwest. The courses are fun and informative, providing students with rich experiential knowledge about Burlesque history and culture. The practical application of the strip- and the -tease have transformed students’ experience of their own bodies, and has launched some into semi professional performance. Courses are offered year- round, with parts of summer off during the busy Burlesque performance circuit.

Classes are held in the West Hall of the historic Oddfellows Building!
